Title Insurance Companies Update Lien Forms

UPDATE TO NC LAND TITLE ASSOCIATION LIEN FORMS

In February, the North Carolina Land Title Association updated two of its forms to remove a paragraph which had been troubling to subcontractors and suppliers.  Form 6, the Waiver and Release of Liens form, and Form 7, the Subordination Agreement, no longer contain indemnification language.  Paragraph 2 is now entitled “Reliance” and provides that a purchaser may rely upon the representations contained in each document.
