Hannah Sheridan Loughridge & Cochran, LLP are proud sponsors of the Cary Family/Kraft Family YMCAs annual 100-hole golf marathon on May 6, 2014 at Crooked Creek Golf Club in Fuquary-Varina..  The one-day event in which golfers play individually or in teams to complete 100-holes of golf raises funds for the We Build People campaigns of the two western Wake County YMCAs.

For those who are unaware, We Build People is the YMCA of the Triangle’s scholarship program.  It provides access to programs of the Cary Family YMCA and the Kraft Family YMCA including Livestrong, a wellness program for cancer survivors, Y-Learning which is the YMCA’s afterschool tutoring program for at risk elementary, middle and even high school students, and Leaders Club which helps high school students develop their leadership skills as well as an appreciation for the value of community service.  The program also provides need based assistance for access to membership and other YMCA camps and childcare programs.

Nan Hannah has been involved in the We Build People program for the Cary Y for over 20 years and has, for the past four years, coached basketball teams made up of children who are only able to participate because of the We Build People program. Chad Cochran and Nan Hannah have served as “bill readers,” selecting bills for consideration by the Youth Legislature as part of the Youth and Government program of the YMCA.  And this year, Nan and Cody Loughridge will take some of the outreach children out on the golf course to play a few holes as part of the golf marathon.
