New North Carolina Budget Funds Electronic Filing in the Courts

After years of delays and missteps, it appears that North Carolina will finally modernize its court records.  The latest budget provides $1.8 million in recurring funds to establish a system of electronic filing.  If all goes as planned, the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts should implement a new system which allows attorneys to file documents remotely and pay court fees via credit card.  Hopefully, the current antiquated system will soon be behind us: http://www.govtech.com/state/North-Carolina-Works-to-Digitize-State-Justice-System.html
