Oakwood Neighborhood Court Ruling: A Lesson for Developers

A Wake County Superior Court Judge issued a ruling this week in a highly publicized land development / zoning case.  The ruling ended another chapter in this highly controversial case, and further appeals are very possible.  The case centers around whether a modern building could be built in a neighborhood which is subject to historic zoning standards.  Land developers should take note of the dangers associated with making certain that all of the appropriate governmental entities have their say before initiating expensive construction.  This case certainly demonstrates the dangers associated with pursuing controversial projects when all of the necessary government entities are not fully on board.
