N.C. Coronavirus Task Force Tells Businesses to be Prepared
(Triangle Business Journal)
The North Carolina coronavirus task force is urging residents to begin taking action to prepare for a potential outbreak in the state. While there haven’t been any verified cases in N.C., the virus has infected tens of thousands around the world and has a mortality rate of about 2%, about 20-times deadlier than the flu. For businesses, state officials say preparation should include: reviewing teleworking, working-from-home and absenteeism policies; cross-training employees to handle key functions that may be interrupted by potential absences; establishing a relationship with the local health department; and everyone in the office practices good hygiene.
