The Post Judgment Toolbox: Supplemental Examinations
Supplemental examinations are a way for creditors and their attorneys to question a judgment debtor and learn more about assets that they possess during the post judgment collections process. Similar to the examination of a witness, the party may be required to appear and testify under oath before the court, and respond to the judgment creditor’s questions. Failure to attend the examination, and to comply with further orders from the court, may eventually result in contempt or arrest.
