A Virtual Mailbox?
Recently, while trying to serve a legal document, a deputy reported that he was unable to serve the document because the address was a “virtual mailbox.” That was a new term to us, so we did some digging. Did you know that the USPS and private businesses offer this service (for a fee)?
From the USPS Website: “What is a virtual mailbox with USPS? Your virtual mailbox is a digital service that you access via any computer, tablet, or smartphone. See your mail as soon as it is received! Receive, forward, pick up, shred, or discard mail and packages. Consolidate items to save on shipping.”
So, whatever your business, while doing your due diligence on a new customer, make certain you Google to verify that the address you have will lead you to a person and not a dead end.
